At the Academy all of our instructors are actually "Taught how to Teach".  As part of our rigorous Brown & Black Belt process, all perspective higher ranks must do student teaching under the supervision of the head instructor.  All brown and black belt candidates must go through the following criteria before being allowed to teach:

• Assisting head instructor as a Purple and Brown Belt

• Learn how to develop effective class plans

• Must undergo KATSU (first aid) training

• Be able to safely teach UKEMI (Break Falls)

• Must learn how to teach Kids 

• Learn to teach the "individual" in a group class

The attainment of rank alone is not enough, it's a process of growth, maturity and confidence..  Prospective instructor must go through the approved process prior to being allowed to run classes thus ensuring a safe, fun and effective learning environment.
